Sunday 11.8.20 10am update

The storm is now at 65 mph and forecasted to become a hurricane.  It is forecasted to pass initially far to our south and then go out into the Gulf.  Where is goes after that is not clear.  Please stay vigilant.

Sunday morning 11.8.20 Update

As you can see from the cone above, we remain out of it!  That's the good news.   The not so good news is that the storm is coming close, and while the Hurricane Center is not forecasting the storm to become a hurricane, other sources have.  Bottom line?  Stay vigilant.

Saturday morning 11.7.2020 Update

This storm has now targeted our vicinity.   The winds are currently 40 mph.  Please prepare and stay tuned in to all weather advisories.  Thankfully this storm is not forecasted to intensify, however it's safer to assume it will, and take precautions accordingly.

Friday morning 11.6.2020 Update

This storm's current maximum winds are 35 mph.   Currently, it's a minor storm and probably would impact Surfside as a major rain maker in its current configuration, however it's over warm waters and could intensify.  We need to keep an eye on it.  If it does become more dangerous, I will update this site.  Please stay vigilant.

Hurricane ETA

This storm is currently about 5 days away from potentially impacting Surfside.   Please stay tuned to news reports and begin to plan for a potential impact related to this storm.  It is currently forecasted to be a strong storm - should it hit us, however that could very well change over the next several days.  Please stay vigilant.
